Ringkasan Ilmiah
Centralized training camps often induce transitional stress and latent rivalry among elite youth athletes, necessitating thorough psychological profiling to sustain peak performance. This study evaluated the comprehensive psychological profile of Semarang Gold Program (PSE) swimming athletes across the four core dimensions of the SPQ 20. Utilizing a quantitative survey design, this descriptive exploratory study examined a sample of 11 elite swimmers (both male and female) within the centralized PSE program. Data were collected via the Sports Performance Questionnaire 20 (SPQ 20) and analyzed using descriptive statistical exploration in SPSS to compute means and standard deviations benchmarked against SPQ 20 norms. The findings revealed that three out of four aspects reached a high psychological level: achievement and competition (competitiveness: 4.12±0.477), confidence and resilience (stress management: 4.10±0.274), and interaction and sportsmanship (ethics: 4.46±0.356). Conversely, power and aggressiveness remained at an average level (2.79±0.813 and 3.04±0.572, respectively), with female athletes noticeably outperforming males in competitive drive. While PSE swimmers exhibit robust foundational resilience and achievement motivation, internal vulnerabilities persist regarding team empathy and individualized power distribution. Practically, these findings imply that coaches must implement individualized power-based training adjustments and proactive social mediation to dissolve peer rivalry. Furthermore, the administration should institutionalize formal onboarding protocols and periodic mental screenings to optimize long-term, holistic athletic development within municipal sports frameworks.
